In September 220 guests from 13 countries came together for a bitter-sweet event – the very last BMW i Pure Impulse Day, which marked the end of the BMW i Pure Impulse programme.

In November 2019, BMW i Pure Impulse members from all over the world came together to visit the birthplace of their iconic BMW i8 – the BMW Group Plant Leipzig.

Innovation and driving pleasure were at the heart of the BMW Pure Impulse Day 2019. On arrival, guests – from 11 countries were greeted by a BMW i3 Roadside Edition at the entrance of the Fürstenfelder Hotel in Fürstenfeldbruck.

This journey was an extraordinary culinary highlight for BMW i Pure Impulse members and their companions, who were keen to learn more about the philosophy of slow food. They were delighted to have the opportunity to get to know the chef Bledar Kola and enjoy his unique gastronomic creations in Tirana, Albania, in early September.

The BMW i Pure Impulse members from the UK, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands who took part in this Scenic Drive will fondly remember the first days of September. It was an extraordinary weekend, during which participants could savour the charming and lush Welsh landscape with all their senses.

In a memorable first, BMW i Pure Impulse members from the UK, Russia, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, the Czech Republic and France travelled from Munich, Germany, to the charming town of Bormio, Italy, in a scenic drive that spanned four countries with the majestic Alps as their backdrop for the day.

For guests from Austria, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and the UK, an exciting day of driving and practising new manoeuvres with a selection of BMW M models and the BMW i8, awaited at the top-class BMW and MINI Driving Academy in Maisach.

On a crisp spring weekend, BMW i Pure Impulse members from the US, the UK and Germany came together at the charming town of Amenia in Upstate New York. A former mining site turned summer camp destination, the town was deserted when a burst dam turned it into wetlands half a century ago, but has recently started flourishing again, becoming a sought-after destination for city-dwellers looking for a relaxing mini-break.

A real money-can’t-buy experience awaited BMW i Pure Impulse members who took a behind-the-scenes peek at the making of the latest Mahogany Session video in mid-April. Shot in a carefully selected location, this video production was staged exclusively for BMW i Pure Impulse guests in a Bicester Heritage hangar with upcoming artist Toby Johnson as the star.

The trademark whimsical and eye-catching visuals and supreme blending of Korean and European influences were much in evidence in the stunning courses served up by famed chef Choi Hyun-seok and his team at CHOI. in Seoul this spring. The total of 49 guests from Korea sipped a welcome glass of champagne on arrival, a stylish entry to chef Choi’s equally sophisticated restaurant on the similarly up-market side of Gangnam. Before the BMW i Pure Impulse members sat down to enjoy the exquisitely crafted cuisine, they were welcomed by Wolfgang Hacker, Head of Brand Management at BMW Korea.

As the distinctive blue, white and black livery of the BMW i Andretti Motorsport racecar swept through the awe-inspiring, monument-packed streets of central Paris in the thrilling eighth round of the Formula E championship, BMW i Pure Impulse members from across Europe and the US looked on and took in the electric atmosphere.

Famous routes of Japan, alongside well-researched off-the-beaten-track roads, stunning views of snow-clad Mount Fuji, top-class hospitality and a convivial atmosphere all translated into a wonderful scenic driving experience among the lakes, mountains and hot springs of Hakone.

Hot driving action at the Arctic Circle: In March 2019, two groups of drivers from Europe, Russia, Canada, Singapore and the US spent a few days packed with  adrenaline-fuelled driving action, an as well as a winter wonderland adventure at a nearby reindeer farm, where the guests had the opportunity to try their hand at ice-fishing on the frozen lake as well as participate in a magical reindeer ride through the snowy forest. You can find the highlights of this once-in-a-lifetime event in the spectacular video.

A visit to the land of fire and ice turned out to be nothing short of magical for the BMW i Pure Impulse guests from the UK, Germany, USA, Canada, France, Portugal and Switzerland who had made the trip to this northern destination.

A snow-filled winter wonderland and the expansive Alpine-chic reception of Das Central Hotel in Sölden welcomed BMW i8 drivers for a weekend of high-altitude driving action and James Bond style and settings.

Guests from the US, Europe and Singapore joined a BMW i Pure Impulse Caribbean island adventure that one member described upon departure as “hard to beat”.

The elegant, cultured and gastronomically celebrated city of Turin was the perfect sunlit canvas for portraying the BMW i8 to perfection on a weekend that brought automotive passion to the fore at the Gran Premio Parco Valentino scenic drive.

It was a weekend of perfect settings in which to showcase the guests’ BMW i8s – both in the grounds of The Manor Country House Hotel where the guests stayed, and a vast aircraft hangar at Bicester Heritage – as well as the E-Copper BMW i8 Roadster and BMW i3s supplied by BMW in the UK.

A residence in the beating heart of the city, the cool elegance of an haute couture designer, the down-to-earth vibrancy of a local market, a glimpse into secret gardens and sweeping mountain vistas: this mid-March Moroccan weekend had it all, offering guests an authentic visit with a sensory overload.
