It was the BMW i Pure Impulse Event in the most unusual – and possibly also the most magnificent – setting yet. Twenty guests from the USA, Germany Switzerland and Austria flew or drove to the Utah desert in early May for the BMW i Pure Impulse Desert Experience event.

From the moment they arrived, guests were captivated by the stunning architecture of the Amangiri resort and the striking views over the dramatic desert landscapes. In the early evening, cocktails were served on the Desert Lounge terrace of the resort and the BMW i Pure Impulse team officially welcomed the guests.

While strong winds and low temperatures meant dinner had to be served inside, the mood remained jovial all evening.

The next morning, the first group of members set off for a magnificent Scenic Drive, while the remaining guests enjoyed a spa treatment back at the resort or went on a guided hike.

The Scenic Drive first took drivers to Page Municipal Airport, where two Cessna aircrafts stood ready to take them on a scenic flight over Lake Powell, the Colorado River, Rainbow Bridge and Horseshoe Bend.

Still revelling in the views of the unbelievable scenery they got to admire from above, the second part of the drive took guests to the Colorado River. There were plenty of opportunities to take photos and enjoy the scenery along the way, and even a chance to look for nesting condors along the Navajo Bridge.

After a lunch stop at a Navajo restaurant the first group returned to the resort, and the afternoon group set off for the drive, while it was the first group’s turn to relax and enjoy Amangiri’s excellent facilities.

In the evening, the two groups came back together for drinks and dinner where many stories and pictures from the day were exchanged.

Before their departure on Sunday, guests had the opportunity to join the very first BMW i Pure Impulse yoga class, leaving them refreshed and reinvigorated for the journey home.
