In September, 220 guests from 13 countries came together for a bitter-sweet event – the very last BMW i Pure Impulse Day, which marked the end of the BMW i Pure Impulse programme.

Throughout the first day, BMW i Pure Impulse members and their guests arrived at the five-star Andaz Hotel in the heart of Munich. Once settled in, and with some reunions on the way, the festivities kicked off at the BMW Welt, where a definite highlight was the display of the striking BMW XM MYSTIQUE ALLURE. More time to chat and reconnect over dinner followed at the on-site Bavarie restaurant.

The next day held some surprises as an unexpected snowstorm hit the lower Bavarian Alps, getting in the way of the planned Scenic Drive. However, even severe weather warnings didn’t dim the festive spirits as guests came together at the scheduled lunch location, Dinzler am Irschenberg.

After some rest and relaxation it was time for the evening’s main event at the newly opened Bergson Kunstkraftwerk – a former heating plant that was only recently converted into an edgy space for culture and the arts.

The evening was fully dedicated to BMW, the past and the future. Following the welcome reception, guests made their way to the main hall, where they were greeted by BMW hosts before listening to a talk on the latest hydrogen technology and what it means to BMW and our planet.

Then began a delicious yet quite emotional dinner. In between courses, everyone shared favourite memories, pictures and stories from the past ten years of BMW i Pure Impulse.

The dinner ended with a surprise video message from serial explorer and clean-technology pioneer Bertrand Piccard. It was a wonderful tie-in on multiple levels: Piccard not only attended the BMW i Pure Impulse launch event ten years ago but his company Climate Impulse’s latest emission-free project aims to fly a green hydrogen-powered aeroplane non-stop around the Earth in 2028, demonstrating how concrete solutions can help build a cleaner and more efficient world.

The excitement and high energy of the evening continued to the afterparty with guests dancing till the early hours.
